Working at Tacoma Christian Academy

Tacoma Christian Academy is a K-10 private school located at 2014 S 15 Street, Tacoma, WA 98405. We serve primarily families of first-generation, Slavic-origin immigrants. Our mission is to assist families in educating their children’s hearts and minds for the glory of God by accomplishing the following goals:

Training in a Biblical worldview
Cultivating Christlike character
Achieving academic excellence

TCA is a collaborative environment that aims to provide its students with a comprehensive education. As a result, our teachers and staff have to be quick learners who easily adapt to new situations and enjoy challenges.

Teaching Positions

Basic Teacher Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
Strong agreement with school’s religious and cultural mission and values
Three years teaching experience, with preference given to those with five or more years of experience.

Additionally, Ideal Teacher Applicants will also have:

Prior experience with ELL students, with preference given to those with training in an ELL context
High degree of flexibility, teachability, and willingness to learn
Strong sense of cultural sensitivity and a desire for cross-cultural exchange
Teaching certification (either ACSI, state, or both)
Prior experience with ABeka, BJU, and Saxon curricula
Prior experience with Google Apps for Education, Alma Student Information System, Windows, and Chrome OS

All teachers at Tacoma Christian Academy have the same basic job description, though some jobs/roles have additional, specific descriptions for their roles.
